Katie Hartley - Assignment 2

About this collection

This collection is a compilation of items related to the plays produced by William Shakespeare. Most of Shakespeare's works were produced between 1589 and 1613. The plays he produced spanned several genres including, Comedy, Tragedy, Historical, and Romance. These works are still regarded today as some of the best examples of their respective genres. He created over 200 original words such as "bedazzled", "new-fangled", and "swaggered" to name a few. In "Hamlet", Shakespeare delves into concepts like mental illness and the idea of existence. He also created one of the most fascinating characters to ever "break the 4th wall". In "Othello", Iago the villain of the play takes multiple opportunities to conspire with the audience and create a deeper sense of foreboding for what is about to take place. All in all, his works endure because of their innovation and originality.
