About this collection

One Woman's Words is a digital library collection of literary works and associated material.  The exhibit includes poetry, essays, and photographs.  Physical objects are also represented in the collection.

The exhibit chronicles the education and social development of one woman, from early childhood to adulthood.

The collection may appeal to researchers concentrating on gender or ethnic studies.  Elementary and Secondary Education teachers may take interest in aspects of the collection.  Researchers exploring curriculum design or education for gifted children will find material within the collection for study.  Furthermore, historians interested in the Detroit Public School system or educational initiatives implemented in urban settings will discover material that supports shcolarly inquiry.
